ugh last night was the biggest waste of time!!!!!!!!!!

we had this marching band banquet, you have to go, and my mom and i payed 37 dollars to go (my dad and sister didn't go because the banquet would have summed up to over 100 dollars and we weren't going to waste 30 dollars for my sister just to sit there). first of all, we got stinking lost. the band booster club didn't even provide a map nor even an address, so i got directions from mapquest. well, the directions on mapquest sent us to the opposite side of bloomington, so here we are, driving around having no clue. we're already late for dinner, so we decided to call the hotel. they said they were right behind embassy suites, but apparently there are TWO embassy suites in bloomington. UGH!!!!!!! so we had to drive ALL the way back over to the other side of town, which takes around 15 minutes, and finally arrived at the banquet about 30 minutes late. i got to my table, and was basically ignored for the rest of the evening, because i was late. then i got dinner and it wasn't even warm! it was beef kabobs junk on rice and the meat was red on the inside....which i absolutely hate. i ended up barely eating any of it. then the award ceremony started, and iall i got was a tiny tiny TINY pin and a certificate smaller than half the size of a standard letter-size piece of paper. that's all. so i wasted 4 hours of my evening that sucked. i dunno, i'm still kinda frustrated right now too, because i'm the only person of all the clarinets in the band (there are about 40-ish clarinets) that had all of the music memorized perfectly, i'm a perfectionist so i could literally give you the lettername of a note in a certain measure on a certain beat of a song, and i'm a freshman. i mean, come on. there were SENIORS and JUNIORS and SOPHOMORES with like three or four pieces of music taped to the back of the chair in front of them, and what do i get for that? absolutely nothing. my rank now pretty much disowns me since the season is over and don't even bother even looking in my direction. sheesh.

*sigh* on a slightly lighter note, i got my report card back today and i'm 3rd out of 418 students. i dunno, i guess i'm happy with it, but i'm so...close...to.......first...........ugh. and i was first last year so bukaa. but then again that was only 188 students. okay bye now. *no longer frustrated*
