To be sure, neither the Koran nor the Bible are bad things to live by, taken as a moral guide and not as a book of "orders," or, if you will, commandments.
The US is halfway between seperation and very conflicting with itself, as any nation founded by [religious] pilgrims who wanted to escape persecution would be. We would -like- to be completely free of religion, but there is a sort of cultural, historical, and traditional momentum behind any holiday, religious or not (view: Colombus Day). At this point, I'd usually say something about looking to the past to not repeat their mistakes, but this is actually a pretty modern dilemma. I think this is the first time in history that a nation that was founded on any type of religious principles has tried to eradicate those very priciples and stand on its own moral feet.

it really shouldnt matter...labeling ourselves christian or whatever just causes more trouble than anything.
IMO this "war" america has going on right now is not a political war...it's a religious war...i don't really know what else to say except to reiterate that labeling ourselves just causes trouble... read The End of Faith by Sam Harris...he explains it much better than I can. No, Zebo I think this war is an economic war. We consume more then half of the worlds oil...and we need more.
That and Bush, and Cheyenne and all their cronies have stock in major oil companies. Cheyenne (the evil puppet master) inparticular has HUGE amounts of stock in Haliburton, as he was their CEO (or was it VP? Well, something like that) for awhile.
