What's so bad about it? It's historically accurate; in fact, crucifiction was THE way to execute criminals during that time period. I think it's great that they aren't shying away from it just because of the religious affinity. I mean, HELLO? They thought Jesus was a criminal, that's why they CRUCIFIED him! It wasn't something reserved for the Son of God, any common thief could get the very same punishment. In fact, given Jesus' penchant for associating with the undesirables of his time (tax collectors, prostitutes, fishermen, shepherds (both very dirty professions)), his death in such a manner was very apropos.
From the point of view of Christians, I'd have to say that maybe this is a way to recruit more people. "Jesus died in this very painful way *shows clip from game of banned player writhing on cross* for YOU, to take your punishment." If someone doesn't try that tactic, I'll eat my motherboard. As for the comment at the end of the article..."Joe" has really GOT to work on his satire. Completely unimaginative and way, way out in left field. A simple crucifiction of banned players morphing into an orgy of blood and sadistic torture? Eesh. What an idiot. Without failure, how can man appreciate success? Without loss, how can man value gain? Without hard work, how can man know the joy of striving? Without despair, how can man understand hope? Perfection only serves to kill itself and sheltering your children merely robs from them the richness that life has to offer. Without death, life means nothing. Without sin, what meaning virtue? |

Interesting. Well I say they can enact whatever bans they want for players. People outside of the game have to realize it's not RL, it's just a game.

Yep. It's a creative ban. I only hope that it is frustrating for the one to whom it was applied. Otherwise it's not effective.
