Well, SoD, Ra brought me here, much like he indirectly brought you. But he said it was a personal invitation for me.
Rather than edit this thing, I'll just add a reply every time I have something to add on here, which will probably happen for the first few days...Easier for people to figure out what new parts I wrote.
To answer your question, I am pursuing a career in education, at least at the moment, I'll probably end up changing my mind again. Wow, there are a lot of neat emotes on here too.
I am an idealist, an optimist, an existentialist, an atheist (Uh-oh) What is my dream? Happiness, pure and simple. IMO the meaning of life is to be happy, it just varies from person to person what that happiness is. For me, half of it is making sure that I'm happy, but equally to make sure that others are happy. I consider it my duty to brighten up the lives of others, to help them, to love them (in a way), this is how I find fulfillment. Money does not make me happy. While I'd like to live comfortably (there it is again, depends on your own personal definition of comfort), that is not nearly as important to me as being who I am and helping those around me. Hence the teaching route. While I am a big fan of architecture, and adept in *all* manners of engineering and design, I have decided that I would not like that kind of lifestyle. I cannot be happy with a deskjob, anything of the sort. I need a little variety. 9 to 5 is not my lifestyle, not something I can live with. For those of you that know the difference, I am a Dionysian, seldom an Apollonian. What is my fear? I fear that I may not find the person who can make me happiest, a wonderful woman who is just my type. Note that that is not an active fear of mine, but that one scares me the most if it were to come true. I'm positive it won't though, I realize there are lots of people out there. As a matter of fact, I may have recently found this person. But that's another story.
I have experienced more of the bad side of life than most people. It amazes me how naive and how blind people who have been well to do are to the sufferings of people around them! I think my experiences of pain, of existential anguish, have made me a much different person, especially from my age group. I do not necessarily mix well with people my age because they tend to be focused on things I consider trivial. Don't get me wrong, I don't hold it against them, it is just that I find there are few people to talk to about such things as God, the meaning of life, all that stuff...I am a deep thinker. I tend to link better with girls my age than males...women appear to be more mature in their minds at this age than the guys, many obsessed with sex, beer, and so on. I realize that not everyone there is that way, but at my school it is disproportionately high, so there is a large percentage of people I have nothing to do with. My school has a large amount of Baptists. While I do disagree with many forms of religion, I DO NOT hold anything against other people just because they are religious, for any beliefs they may have. People who believe in God may have experienced something that I missed, so I can't say their belief is wrong, just because I haven't experienced it! I do not have many friends who are Baptists there because they seem very resolute in their beliefs and do not tolerate my non-belief. So I avoid them, and therefore miss out on another percentage of people. I do not and will not do drugs or drink alcohol, though I do on occasion have "a shot at New Years" or similar event. My consumption of alcohol is extremely low, and I'm almost done with it altogether. I know how to enjoy myself without it, I know how to relax without it. Those kinds of things do more harm than good for people like me.

I noticed on this message board that there are many many topics that aren't about trivial things, so I already know I will love it here, and can easily get active in most anything. I don't think that trivial posts are wrong, I do them myself, I just don't FOCUS on them. I hate politics. Don't talk to me about it because I disagree entirely with government in the world today. It's all ridiculous to me. Okay, I'll stop for lunch now, and post some more later. Hope you find something interesting, I know there is a lot more I could say yet.
