Ok what is so hard to grasp about the rotating image script? It randomly displays an image and a link, that means at any given time 6 DIFFERENT links will be given. If I were to add your button/link in the other positions then the chances that 2 or more of your links will be displayed is greatly increased. If I were to add your link multiple times to a single slot it would make it that your link would show up far more often than the other ones in the slot or any link in any other slot.

Which is why I only put ONE button for each link.

Alternatively, I could create a random image cgi script like I use for my avatar to load one of many buttons given to me, so that there will still only be one link at any given time, but the image displayed would be random due to the cgi script. But I'm not about to go that far for spa-erm 'advertisers'

I've considered putting it all into an outside script to be loaded from sublunary, that would greatly clean up the board code and ensure that the scripts and such don't get changed or reverted when we do a different theme. However it has it's downsides :/ Firstly and most horrific would be that the script fails to load, that doesn't require that sublunary be down, only that someone's bandwidth was not sufficient to load all of the images, board code, and the remote script before it timed out. Having a remote script will cause the page to completely STOP loading until it's either retrieved from the server or times out.

... damn, additionally that would mean that you wouldn't be able to edit the header anymore without downloading the .js file from the server, editing it PROPERLY and then reuploading it to the server :/

Yes Noc, read that post again :) It doesn't matter how small a part of the board the script is if sublunary goes down it will STOP the board completely from loading until the script times out, and that takes at least 30 seconds for most people.

Infact my sig is in a javascript on Sublunary. If I were to ever rename/move the file, or sublunary were to go down, any thread I've posted in would have the same effect, it would STOP until the script times out.... but on the bright side, there wouldn't be any borken images :P
