Hey folks, long time no see (not that I've seen any of you. ever.) bin a busy summer, what with moving flat twice - neither having a net connection. Will be moving again in Dec. and hopefully shall have enough moneys to buy a broadband connection for myself. YAY - no university restrictions on sites with no innappropriate content. To any noobs (if you don't mind being called that) welcome for one of the more periodic members. I would say mad, but there are others moreso than me. Anyway, hopefully my schedule between uni lectures and work shall allow more time on the web, and so more time to post here.

Welcome back! I wondered what had happened to you. Lack of net connection is a real drag. Sorry to hear you have had to move twice, what a bit of trouble that must have been! Good luck on getting the broadband. Where are you now in school?

Yeah, I'm back at Uni, and since the library comp's are mostly always in use, I've regstered with the local library as well, yet despite almost a hundred computer's there, they're usually full too! though I can book computers there, so I should get some time on wednesdays, after October. hopefully I'll pass my driving test second time round, so I'll have wed afternoons free.

Oh, I hope you pass your driving test! Most do so hopefully you will have no problem. I believe it about the computers getting booked up, seems like everyone is on a computer these days.

and to update on some things posted here. now have 24/7 broadband net connection (Yay)

failed the second (and third) attempts at the driving test. 2nd one I reckon it was because the examiner was training another examiner, so marked harder than he would have otherwise (since his rep before me was that he passed almost all his examinees of my current instructor), the 3rd one was bad luck. failed on the left reverse as it was into a narrow road, and as such i went a tiny bit too far onto the other side of the road (not easy to do on a road so narrow only one car can go down at a time, but hey)

Maybe next time, though i need to pay £19 to get a duplicate licence as my bro held a party at the last flat, and during it, someone went into my room, wnet through my stuff, and the licence went missing. wasn't in the room, so am presuming it was stolen. so need the money to apply for that, wait three weeks for processing, and get my new licence. problem is, the licence will need the addy changed as well, so the bit i have, the photocard, has to be sent back, which means i have no official id to go out.

Anyhooooo, well that is too bad about your failing your driving test and about losing your license. What a drag and what a tiresome thing to have to get a new one. 19 pounds is kind of a lot, don't you think? Do you think your driving is actually bad or was it really just that one bad turn?

well i thought i'd passed it. the reason they failed me was over that one turn. you're allowed 15 'minor' faults, i had 3, so my general driving can't have been that bad.

It's good that they tell you how many faults that you had. Frankly I think you got a bum deal. Sounds to me like maybe the person was not being too fair. Alas, that is too bad. Well, you can try again right away, or do you have to wait a long time?

yeah. need to wait until i send for dupliacte licence, which takes, app, 3wks, then apply for test. think will wait till spring when less chane of bad weather (Ie ice) for test.

That is kind of neat. On one hand I really like snow and how beautiful the winter is, but on the other hand it's so slippery and cold! Especially if it melts a little and then refreezes.

Resurrecting a past topic, but have heard fae others, that if I happened to have had someone other than the test centre head examiner, I would have passed for having done so well elsewhere in the test. And in the last week have had such bad snow that I haven't risked going into uni a few times.
(plus having slept in, means I haven't been in a full week for a few weeks. Very bad me. especially since I failed the exams I turned up for lectures and courseworks for, and passed the two I missed most if the lectures for. Am gutted, but at the same time, am glad I don't have to sit the two hardest subjects again in August.)
