I don't want Gates to die
 Gates has been, like, a home to me! It was there when the Palace was born then died; when Aoren was born then died. So many memories, I don't want it to go I really have no opinion on moving the board. Sentimentality calls for either somehow keeping it the way it is, or just letting it die, but I don't think either of those are an option at this point. I'm really not sure what to think, sorry, uma, I know you asked for an opinion. Believe it or not, this is pretty big for me

But ezboard is dying. I can move it to yucky.com. Maybe seamlessly and no one will notice. I am not sure. I will keep reading about the move. But we can also contemplate alternatives like Gaia.

Yeah, that is why it would be a Guild. That is like a private forum with subforums. I am hoping maybe they would let people personalize them just like we can personalize profiles now. My profile looks like this board.

Not worth it if it just dies because we get no new people and old ones stop coming by.
At least with a Guild I can open it to new people in the future or sell it if I don't want it.

Gaia is huge and easy to get lost in for me.
 The admin at another board I go to has been talking to somebody at EZ named LaBatt and he told her that they have a way to import the current data to set up new boards. Something tells me this isn't going to be a piece of cake to do.

I'm much the same as Crianca. I'll go wherever TGOH&I go. After following the two links that Uma put in her first post I'm not madly loving either of the other two options, but Gaia seems to load faster than Yuku.

Crianca you are so sweet and I would hate to lose track of you though eventually we must all drift apart I am sure. But as long as we can we will keep posting together and sharing news, etc.
Masa, Gaia is easy once you get used to it. Heh, I still don't know where all the subforums are and I have been there 2 years. But you can bookmark the places you like and then go to them repeatedly. If I make a guild that is about all you would need unless you want to explore it more. Awww Gov, would you really go there? That would be awesome. Not saying that Gaia is the final plan yet, but it's good to know that others would take a chance and try it out. I think we all know about ezboard promises and what a crock of lies they have fed everyone and what a disgrace it was that they should get hacked and bascially lose a year of our board! It was a terrible disgrace. I hate to continue supporting a company like this one. I have looked around yuku.com. I have read their FAQ and gone to boards, blogs, profiles, etc. It is not a fast platform. The skins for boards are ugly. Profiles are ugleeeee!!! Customization is not easy (have to check this out further). I am not sure this board would easily translate to that platform. I am not sure. I have not totally made up my mind that I dislike them entirely. So I will look at them some more.

First of all, before that happens I need exactly 116 more posts to have 10k even global, so I have to do that.
But, as long as H&I is still around, I don't care what form it's in. A standalone board might be nice, but I think that it would be a bit impractical. |

A standalone, like a proboard or ikonboard? It's doable, but I doubt it would last long. I have no idea how to get it on the server, argh. I need something that will not give me headaches. You can easily get your 10k global here though if you want to.
